Welcom to my first skiing trip in Switzerland.

We flew to Basel on 29th Feb and stayed there one night. The second day we caught the train to Saas-Fee (it took about 3 hrs) and we started skiing on the third day.

We read on internet that Saas-Fee is good for beginner skiers. I took 2 classes with a Spainsh instructor to learn to ski and after a lot of effort i was able to ski!!! Unfortunately Jon went up to the mountain and didnt take any pictures of me skiing. We spent 2 days skiing there.

On the fifth day, we made a decision to go to Zermatt to see the Matterhorn. We went there from Saas-Fee by bus & train. Zermatt is a bigger town than Saas-Fee and the skiing areas are really huge. We had lunch in the restaurant on the mountain (it is on the way to go to the Matterhorn). We reached Klein Matterhorn and could see the Matterhorn in front of us. The temperature was -15 degC and it snowed a lot of the time. From the top there were white mountains as far as the eye could see. It was a really fantastic view from there. Jon really wanted to go skiing in Zermatt but we didnt have enough time. We left there and returned to Saas-Fee in the evening.

The last day in Saas-Fee, it was snowy and windy. We spent the morning watching the kids skiing - they were so cute. And also we did some shopping. In the afternoon we left Saas-Fee and travelled to Basel before flying home.

Now i got to know Switzerland more. In the winter it is also nice but in a different way. Last time the fields were full of flowers (summer) and this time everything was white with snow. However i really like Switzerland and we both hope to go back there again for skiing when we have an opportunity......
